Elizabeth “Beth” Carter is President of Carter Consultants Ltd.,an international executive search and research firm she founded in 1991. Beth Carter Enterprises, launched in 2011, encompasses executive, business, and career coaching, workshops and presentations, and the DISC, Motivators, 360, and Emotional Intelligence assessments. She serves as a “thought partner” for executives and middle managers of small and Fortune 500 companies, business owners, and those who want to have more fulfilling careers. She has a keen ability to help these individuals reach their goals in such areas as leadership and management development, expanding marketing capabilities, and performance enhancement while motivating them to reach their full potential. Beth holds an MBA in Marketing Management from Baruch College and graduated cum laude from Bryant University. She is a Certified Professional Coach, Certified Professional Resume Writer, and an Adjunct Professor in the Executive Development Center at Bryant University. Beth has been published in The Huffington Post and has also been quoted in articles including Yahoo Education and a book called Mogul Mom. She is a speaker and workshop facilitator for companies, universities, leadership conferences, women’s events, and career transition groups. She has spoken at several Chambers of Commerce in RI and CT, and the Boston Bar Association. She also has her own blog which she posts on www.bethcarterenterprises.com. She recently co-authored a book with dating coach, Ronnie Ann Ryan, called Job Search = Love Search: 10 Savvy Career Strategies that Help You Find Love Too.

Guest Speaker: Lauren Lemieux, founder of Coaching To Fulfill Dreams
Lauren Lemieux grew up in Dartmouth and now lives in Acushnet with her husband, Doug, and their 14 year old daughter, Caroline. After graduating from Dartmouth High and UMASS Dartmouth with a Bachelors degree in Humanities and Social Sciences, Lauren spent 18 years working for the family business, Barden’s Boat Yard.
Her career at the boat yard left Lauren with many questions, and in 2012, the realization hit her hard – Lauren was unhappy and unfulfilled in her professional life and felt more and more depleted as each day passed. When she finally decided the time had come to leave and start a new career, the guilt of leaving her family behind was almost too much to bear, but Lauren knew in her core she was meant to do something more with her life. The time had come for her to step out of her comfort zone and connect to what she was really meant to do.
Lauren had no idea what was next for her, but now, she is extremely proud and excited to be able to say she is living her life her way. Lauren is a certified life coach from both the Coaches Training Institute and the International Coaching Federation. Coaching To Fulfill Dreams is her coaching business and she also works part time as a Life Skills Coach at Catholic Social Services coaching those just out of homelessness transition towards economic stability.
When not working, Lauren coaches a few of her daughter’s basketball teams, is the chairperson for Community Boating Center’s of New Bedford’s 10th Annual Opening of the Bay happening May 14th, is a mentor to 2 women within the Lifework Project of the Women’s Fund and she is on the Board of Directors for Community Boating Center and the Acushnet Federal Credit Union.

Guest Speaker: Valerie Bassett, Executive Director of the Women’s Fund of Southeastern MA
Valerie Bassett began her career as a day care teacher and working for a battered women’s sheltering organization. She went on to lead Intergovernmental Relations for the Boston Public Health Commission, was Director of Policy and Research at the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation, and served as executive director of the Massachusetts Public Health Association, an education and advocacy organization. For the past two years she’s consulted, including locally with the South Coast Healthy Housing and Workplace Initiative, a project of Voices for a Healthy South Coast. Valerie graduated from Brown University with a BA in American Civilization and from Emerson College with an MFA in creative writing. A Connecticut native, she lived in Boston for more than 20 years before moving to Westport two years ago, where she now resides with her wife and rescue dogs.

Guest Speaker: Shelley Cardoos, Executive Director of the Entrepreneurship for All (EforAll) South Coast
After graduating from UMass Dartmouth with a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts in 2003, Shelley began working for AHEAD, LLC. Within a few years she became the Creative Department Manager, leading a team of 30-50 employees. While working for this entrepreneurial South Coast company, Shelley created and grew her own t-shirt and design business. She became the vendor coordinator for CRAFT-O-RAMA in 2007, a local arts and crafts event previously run by Calico, a local boutique. Over the years, CRAFT-O-RAMA transformed into a seasonal holiday pop-up shop featuring crafts by local artists and Shelley became sole proprietor in 2014.
Shelley currently sits on the AHA! Steering Committee and on the board of 3rd Eye Youth Empowerment, Inc. She coordinated New Bedford Open Studios in 2010, was member and chair of the New Bedford Local Cultural Council, co-founded Soap Box Social and New Bedford Art Museum’s group Contemporaries. Through her leadership at AHEAD, LLC and her involvement in the community, Shelley was honored to receive the SouthCoast 5 Emerging Leader Award in June of 2015. In September 2015, she joined EforAll as Executive Director in the South Coast.
